Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto has confirmed that late-filing penalties for 2026 corporate tax returns will be waived, following direct instruction from Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.
The move follows similar relief granted earlier to individual taxpayers who missed the March 31, 2026, deadline under the Director General of Taxes Decree Number KEP-55/PJ/2026.
According to Bimo, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) is now formalizing the legal basis to extend the corporate filing deadline, originally set for April 30, 2026.
Additionally, Bimo revealed that the tax administration system prompts an extension of the corporate tax return filing deadline. He acknowledged that the Coretax system has yet to operate at full capacity.
With this relief in place, the government hopes corporate taxpayers will have more time to ensure their calculations are accurate and that they satisfy other administrative requirements for submitting corporate tax returns.
